The Arbitration Academy is a two-day training programme organised by the Finland Arbitration Institute and the Finnish Arbitration Association for lawyers preparing for their first arbitrator appointments. It will take place on 11-12 December 2026 at Hobo Hotel, Helsinki. The programme is held in Finnish.
The programme consists of seven modules: independence and impartiality, case management, taking and evaluation of evidence, interim measures ordered by the arbitral tribunal, decision-making and drafting the award, grounds for setting aside the award, and FAI practices and the appointment of arbitrators. A fireside chat with Mika Savola and informal networking complete the programme.
Participants who complete the programme receive a certificate of participation.
The detailed programme is available in Finnish here.
The programme is open to 25-30 participants. Applicants are expected to have a good knowledge of arbitration and to take an active part in the discussions.
Applications should be sent by email to events@arbitration.fi and must include a CV and a brief description of the applicant’s background. The application deadline is 12 November 2026.
Experienced arbitrators may be interested in the FAI/FAA Arbitration Masterclass, which is held in English.
